DanS42: I just bumped into the CIO of the company I work for and he mentioned he's reading my novel, and likes it so far. FTW *happy dance blush*

The NY Times has a nice travel piece about Phoenix, AZ. As a native Phoenician I only have two problems with it. 1) It talks down to the tourists who might visit and insults Phoenix in the process: "Even long-timers have a tough time explaining the city's appeal.

Scott's plaid tanks will roll into Tempe, AZ, which everyone knows is the center of the universe, and place his sights on the Changing Hands Bookstore (6428 S. McClintock Drive) at 1900 hours. Those who survive shall crawl to the nearest pub for a pint of refreshment with the Siglerisimo, before he rolls into another city. I'll be the g33k in the #42 Krakens jersey, whimpering in delight in awe of my Shamakath.

Eric Skiff came over to help [Bre Pettis] make vampire fangs! Eric has made these for years using dental acrylic, but recently figured out that acrylic for nails is basically the same material. The great thing about this project is that you'll learn how to mold three different types of materials! We're going to make a negative mold of your teeth out of alginate, a positive mold out of your teeth out of plastic, and then the fangs are made out of a two part acrylic that you'd use to make fake fingernails!
